Bulsara: Freddie Mercury’s birth name. Freddie was born Farouk Bulsara in Stonetown, Zanzibar Zanzibar is famously known as the birthplace of Freddie Mercury. When you walk around Stonetown, there are endless references to the great man, with no less than three buildings all laying claim to being his birthplace. Restaurants, other buildings purporting to have been a family home, and any number of other businesses bear the name Mercury – I still think of Zanzbiar whenever I hear Queen playing ! Bulsara came about when I decided to pay homage to the great man – I wanted to create something dark, moody, mysterious and unusual, a little like Freddie himself. What resulted is a complex, woodsy scent, ideal for those looking for a unisex option. A funky black, and red colour theme, using activated charcoal and clays gives a dramatic looking bar. With notes of juniper, black pepper, fennel, spearmint, anise and lime, this soap has a deep complexity that is enjoyed by those wanting something a little left of centre..
